About Us

Conceived by artists, mothers, and longtime friends Hélène Farrar and Janna Civittolo, Cerulean Fine Art Gallery is contributing to central Maine’s evolving art scene. Cerulean Fine Art Gallery features the work of the Cerulean Collective (a select artist group curated by the gallery), a unique art rental program, working artist studios, private lessons and workshops, and an art lending library.

Janna Civittolo

Janna Civittolo is a professional artist practicing in residence at Cerulean Artist Studios.  Additionally, she is a Co-owner of Cerulean Fine Art Gallery. Janna has a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art from the University of Maine and has taught children and adults for ten years, both in the public and private sectors. She has done extensive studying of art-making and teaching methodology that has taken her across the world to Asia and Australia, studying at the prestigious Western Australian School of Visual Arts. She is a passionate and dedicated instructor.

Hélène Farrar

Hélène Farrar has had extensive teaching of the visual arts from formal classrooms to community based art experiences. She is currently a working, professional artist who is co-owner of Cerulean Fine Art Gallery and Artist Studios. She is an adjunct professor of art at the University of Maine at Augusta where she teaches drawing and design. The Three Graces Gallery of Portsmouth, New Hampshire represents her work and she is a member of the Cerulean Collective. Hélène has an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College and a BA in Art from the University of Maine.
